Gender-Sexuality Alliance!
Welcome all to CSS's GSA!
If you're LGBTQ+, an ally, or someone who's just looking to learn more
about the LGBTQ+ community (as well as related issues and events) join
our *anonymous* highschool GSA !
GSA is an anonymous, student led club.
What does that mean? There's no official sign up sheet, no required
attendance, what happens during our club times stays there. Parents
aren't notified when you join GSA - it's a safe space for anyone and
everyone. The students in GSA decide what we do, and we have a student
leader, instead of a teacher, to lead activities.
GSA aims to make CSS a safer environment for LGBTQ+ students. Nobody
should feel like they aren't accepted for who they are in an academic
environment.
Our mission Statement is simple: Inform, Involve, Initiate (I . I . I)
Inform
The GSA has a resolved mission to help people identify themselves
within the LGBTQ+ community and aid in educating the CSS community -
our members have identified casual homophobia and blatant ignorance on
being LGBTQ+ as the main issues within our school's community.
Involve
Our club times are a safe space. You can make queer friends accross
highschool, talk about whatever is bothering you, get advice - we use
our club as not just a place of action, but also a social space!
Initiate
This year, the GSA has plans to take action to bring awareness to
LGBTQ issues within our school community outside of GSA. (Stay tuned-
or join GSA to help plan a more equitable, safer school!)
Come by on Thursdays at 3:15pm in room 302!
